The Gmina Głuchołazy [ ɡwuxɔˈwazɨ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Nyski of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German (Bad) Ziegenhals ; Czech Hlucholazy ) with about 13,750 inhabitants.
location
The community is located in Upper Silesia about 60 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole (Opole) . The municipality borders in the north on the district town of Nysa (Neisse) and in the west and south on the state border with the Czech Republic .
The main town lies at the foot of the Zuckmanteler Bergland (Góry Opawskie). The Biała Głuchołaska (Ziegenhalser Biele) belongs to the rivers .
history
The municipality came to the Opole Voivodeship in 1950, which changed its layout several times until 1999. The powiat Nyski was re-established in 1999. In 1959, through an exchange of territory with Czechoslovakia , Skowronków (formerly Skřivánkov or Lerchenfeld ) came from Zlaté Hory to the municipality, and Krasów was ceded in return. The western part of the tip of the land extending to Kolnovice was assigned to the municipality of Kolnovice, which ceded the eastern corridors of the district of Vysutá to the municipality of Gierałcice.

The Katowice – Legnica railway with the Nowy Las and Nowy Świętów stops, where the Nowy Świętów – Sławniowice Nyskie railway branched off earlier, runs through the north of the municipality . At the weekend, the Głuchołazy station on the Nowy Świętów – Głuchołazy railway line (it used to go to the Zdrój station in the resort). At Głuchołazy station, trains on the Czech KBS 292 Krnov - Jeseník line change direction. Until 2006 these did not allow entry or exit.
