The Gmina Paczków [ 'pat͡ʂkuf ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Nyski in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Patschkau , Silesian Potschke or Poatschke ) with about 7600 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality has an area of 79.7 km² and is located in the southwest of the voivodeship, about 75 kilometers southwest of the capital Opole (Opole) . The district town of Nysa (Neisse) is 25 kilometers east of Paczków. The municipality borders the Czech Republic in the south .
The eponymous city is located at the confluence of the Kamienica in the Nysa Kłodzka . The Jezioro Paczkowskie (Patschkauer Reservoir) extends to the northwest . The area around the city is dominated by agriculture.
