Jarnołtówek (German Arnoldsdorf , 1945–1947 Jarantowice ) is a village in the rural community Głuchołazy (goat neck) in Poland . It is located in the powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location
The village of Jarnołtówek is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia on the northern edge of the Zuckmanteler Bergland . The place is about six kilometers southeast of the municipality seat Głuchołazy ( goat neck ), about 27 kilometers southeast of the district town Nysa and about 62 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . The village is right on the border with the Czech Republic .
The place is in the Sudety Wschodnie (Eastern Sudetes) within the Góry Opawskie (Zuckmanteler Bergland) . Jarnołtówek is located on the Złoty Potok ( Goldbach ), a tributary of the Prudnik . The village lies within the nature reserve Park Krajobrazowy Góry Opawskie .

history
The place was first mentioned in 1372 as Arnoldi villa .
After the First Silesian War in 1742, Arnoldsdorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . Between 1753 and 1754 a baroque church was built in the village.
After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Arnoldsdorf belonged to the district of Neisse in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a castle, a Catholic parish church, a Catholic school, a papermaking shop, three slate quarries and 186 other houses in the village. In the same year, 1403 people lived in Arnoldsdorf, two of them Protestants. In 1855, 1305 people lived in the village. In 1865 there was a hereditary scholtisei , 21 farmer, 13 gardener and 93 cottage industry positions as well as a brewery, a distillery, a papermaking, several limestone quarries, two taverns and three water mills. In 1874 the Arnoldsdorf district was founded, which consisted of the Arnoldsdorf rural communities and the Arnoldsdorf estate. In 1885 Arnoldsdorf had 1,311 inhabitants.
A large part of the village buildings were destroyed in a flood in 1903, including the Catholic parish church. Then the German Empress Auguste Viktoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg visited the place. In 1933, 1280 people lived in Arnoldsdorf. In the same year the Arnoldsdorf district was dissolved. The rural community was incorporated into the Dürr Kunzendorf district. In 1939 the village had 1,413 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neisse .
In 1945 Arnoldsdorf came under Polish administration and was initially renamed Jarantowice . In 1947 the place was renamed Jarnołtówek . From 1950 it belonged to the Opole Voivodeship and from 1999 to the re-established Powiat Nyski .
Attractions
- The Roman Catholic St. Bartholomew's Church (Polish Kościół parafialny św. Bartłomieja Apostoła ) was built in 1907 in the neo-Gothic style. The previous Baroque building, St. Felix and Adauctus, was destroyed in a flood in 1903. The church building has been a listed building since 2008.
- The Arnold Village Castle already existed in the 16th century. In 1850 the building was expanded and rebuilt in the late classical style. The palace has been a listed building since 1986.
