The Złoty Potok (Polish) / Zlatý potok (Czech) (German Goldbach , also Mieserichbach ) is a right tributary of the Prudník / Prudnik in the Czech Republic and Poland .

course

The Zlatý potok rises north of Heřmanovice in the bottom Dlouhá stráň in the Zlatohorská vrchovina in the Czech Republic. Its upper course leads in a deep notch valley between the Přičny vrch ( Querberg , 974 m), Výr and Macov (794 m) through the old Zuckmantler gold mining area to the north. Then the stream flows through the old mountain town of Zlaté Hory . To the north of it, it changes direction to the northeast and flows into Polish territory at the Zlaté jezero pond . Its further course leads via Skowronków, Jarnołtówek , Pokrzywna to the northeast. At Trzebieszów the stream is bridged by the Krnov – Głuchołazy railway line. Via Osiedle, Moszczanka and Łąka Prudnicka , the Złoty Potok finally reaches the town of Prudnik , where it joins the Prudnik at Prudnik station after 23 kilometers . The Złoty Potok is richer in water than the Prudnik at the mouth.

The 9.5 km long Czech part of the catchment area covers 25.15 km² and 4042 people live there. The average flow rate on the Polish-Czech border is 0.436 m³ / s.

history

The brook rises in the Preseka in the old border area between Moravia and Silesia . Gold mining began on the Querberg in the first half of the 13th century. The upper reaches of the brook became one of the centers of medieval gold mining in Silesia. In addition, copper and silver were mined. Zuckmantler mining began to decline in the 17th century.
