The Biskupská kupa (Czech) or Biskupia Kopa (Polish) (German Bischofskoppe ) is a mountain in the Oppa Mountains and at 890 m the highest point in the Polish Opole Voivodeship . The state border between Poland and the Czech Republic runs across the summit .
location
The mountain is located three kilometers east of the town of Zlaté Hory (Zuckmantel) on the right side above the Zlatý potok valley . On the way is the chapel of Saint Roch with a diorama of the battle of January 14, 1779 at the foot of the mountain. At its northwest slope lie the ruins of the castle Leuchtenštejn ( lights Stone ), leads to the summit of a way. From Polish Since paths lead from Jarnołtówek ( Arnold Village ) and Pokrzywna ( Wild reason ) that the municipality Głuchołazy ( Ziegenhals belong), to the mountain, located on the Biskupia Kopa-hut is located.
Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte
The Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte is on the summit. The 18 meter high observation tower is the oldest observation tower in the East Sudetes .
The tower was built in 1898 on the occasion of the 50-year rule of Emperor Franz Joseph I by the Moravian-Silesian Sudeten Mountains Association MSSGV, Zuckmantel section. Before that there was a simple wooden tower (built in 1890) in the same place.
The tower was renovated in 1996 and made accessible to the population again.
