Łukasz Jarosz

Łukasz Jarosz (* 1978 in Olkusz ) is a Polish poet and musician who has received several Polish literary prizes for his poems. Musically he is best known as the singer , drummer and songwriter of the Lesers Bend group.

Life

Jarosz graduated from high school in Olkusz.

In 2006 he made his debut with the volume of poetry Soma , with which he won the Ogólnopolski bankruptcy Literacki "Złoty Środek Poezji". In 2013 he won the first Wisława Szymborska Prize for Pełna krew (ex aequo with Krystyna Dąbrowska ) . His two subsequent volumes, Świat fizyczny and Kardonia i faber , were each nominated for the Nike Literature Prize.

He lives in Żurada near Olkusz, where he works as a Polish teacher at a primary school.
