Šaḫurunuwa (King)
Šaḫurunuwa was the viceroy of Karkemiš and the son of his predecessor Šarri-Kušuḫ . It is not certain whether he followed his father directly in rule, or whether a brother who ruled Karkamiš beforehand, whose name is fragmentarily reproduced as "x-Šarruma". This traditional name could also be the middle name of Šaḫurunuwa. Šaḫurunuwa led in 1275 BC A separate contingent in the battle of Qadeš . After his death, the rule passed to his son Ini-Teššup .
