ʻAreʻare is an oceanic language . It is spoken by 17,000 ʻAreʻare mainly on the southern half of the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands . 30–60% of speakers can read and write their language.
The language has two dialects: the actual ʻAreʻare and the Marau dialect.
