1. Football Club Achternberg was a football club from the Rotthausen district of Gelsenkirchen and was founded in 1968.

history

The club's greatest success was reaching the finals of the DFB Cup 1985/86 as a district league team at the time. 1. FC Achternberg had lost the final in the Westphalia Cup against TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus 2: 4. In the first main round, the club was defeated by the then second division club VfL Osnabrück on the district sports facility Auf der Reihe with 0: 2.
