The 10-cm houfnice vz. 30 was a gun of Czechoslovak origin that was taken over by the Wehrmacht as a booty weapon and used in World War II . The German name was 10 cm light field howitzer 30 (t) .
history
The gun was captured by the Wehrmacht after the German invasion of the rest of Czechoslovakia . The original name 10-cm houfnice vz. 30 was changed to 10 cm light field howitzer 30 (t) , where the (t) stood for Czech. A total of 158 pieces of the gun built in Pilsen near Škoda were taken over by German units.
description
The 10 cm light field howitzer 30 (t) was a barrel recoil gun with a spring retractor, spring balancer, protective shield and independent pointer aiming device with a panoramic barrel. The projectile weight of the HE shell was 16 kilograms.
commitment
The gun was used in the artillery regiments instead of the German 10.5 cm light field howitzer 18 . Among other things, a training battery of the Jüterbog Army Artillery School and the SS Totenkopf Division were equipped with this gun. The 3 t towing vehicle ( Sd.Kfz. 11 ) served as the traction device .
