The narrow building is on St Vincent Street in the center of Glasgow. It was built between 1899 and 1902 to a design by the Scottish architect James Salmon Jr. built. The eight-story building rises from a floor space of around 33 m × 8 m. With the exception of the irregularly structured first floor, its facade is three axes wide. Edged oriels protrude above the first floor and extend over the sixth floor. Window posts designed as stylized columns with capitals adorn the bay windows. On the sixth floor, a steel balcony emerges from the bay window. Various windows between the bay windows, as well as the two entrance portals, close with round arches . Columns separate the flat window elements on the ground floor.

Various wood and plaster work have been preserved inside the building. The elevator shaft is framed in wrought iron . It involves elaborate metalwork, as it also occurs on parts of the roof design.
