2nd piano quintet (Dvořák)

The Quintet in A major for two violins, viola, cello and piano, Op. 81 wrote Antonin Dvorak between 18 August and 3 October 1887 (ended "in Vysoká on Kirchenweihtag"). The work is dedicated to the university professor Dr. Bohan Neureuther. The work was premiered on January 6, 1888 in Prague in a concert of the artists' association Umělecká beseda by Karel Ondříček, Jan Pelikán, Petr Mareš, Alois Neruda and Karel Kovařovic . It was published by Simrock in Berlin in 1888, changing the original number from 77 to 81.
