20 masks !!

20 masks !! ( jap. 20 面相 に お ね が い !! Nijūmensō ni Onegai ) is a manga series by the well-known drawing team CLAMP , who also wrote Card Captor Sakura . The manga has over 330 pages and can be assigned to the Shōjo genre, so it is primarily aimed at a female, young readership.

action

The nine-year-old campus detective Akira Ijyuin becomes a criminal because he has to take care of his greedy family. In ever new masks, he not only makes a name for himself as a thief, but also has to escape his most stubborn pursuer, his campus colleague Ryunosuke.

Publications

20 masks !! appeared in Japan from 1989 to 1991 in eleven individual chapters in the Japanese manga magazine Comic Genki . From June 1990 onwards , the Kadokawa-Shoten- Verlag combined these individual chapters in a total of two anthologies. In 2001 the same publisher brought out a two-volume new edition of the manga.

The manga series has been translated into Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. 20 masks appeared in German !! from September to November 2005 in two volumes completely with Egmont Manga and Anime . The new edition from 2001 served as the basis for the German translation.

The action takes place at the fictional CLAMP School (CLAMP 学園CLAMP Gakuen ). A continuation of 20 masks !! represents the manga series CLAMP School Detectives , which shortly after the completion of 20 masks !! started in the same magazine and was also filmed as an anime television series. Adaptations

Two episodes in the 26 episode anime adaptation of CLAMP School Detectives are dedicated to the plot of 20 masks !! . Two CDs and radio plays on the manga appeared in Japan in June 1990 and July 1991 by Victor Entertainment . Both contain both music and dialogue.
