The 3.7 cm SK C / 30 was a ship gun used by the Weimar Reichsmarine and the German Kriegsmarine on many types of ships . A special feature of the ship mounts is the gyro-assisted horizontal (pre) stabilization of the weapon, which prevents the trunnion from tilting due to ship movements of up to 19.5 °. This completely compensates for necessary corrective movements in the side and height caused by rolling and pitching the ship, and the straightening process is simplified. The carriage was thus stabilized on three axes. Due to the high initial speed compared to other weapons, the required lead is also reduced by approx. 30%.

Due to the manual loading process, however, the rate of fire was relatively low.
