311 Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)
The 311st Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on November 1, 1939 at the Arys military training area in East Prussia . The division was relocated to the Grafenwöhr military training area in Bavaria on June 9, 1940 and disbanded here on August 7, 1940. The commanding officer was Major General Paul Gerhardt (1881–1953).
