320 PS Jim - Cowboys of the Highways was a booklet novel series that was published from 1982 to 1986, when the publisher's booklet publications in Germany were discontinued.
The series published by Wolfgang Marken Verlag narrated the experiences of truckers Jim Stonewall and Chris Morris , who are on the road with their German MAN truck on American highways and who compete for orders with Steve Barcley and Barry Winwood, local colleagues with a much more powerful machine. If they get in danger, however, both parties stick together like bad luck and sulfur.
The novels appeared every two weeks and were written by authors such as Dietmar Kuegler , Werner Dietsch , Werner K. Giesa , Uwe Hans-Joachim Wilken , Alfred Wallon and others under pseudonyms. They were a reaction to the wave of truckers that was budding in Germany at the time ; a total of 106 booklets were published, combining adventure and western novels with modern technology.
The first booklets were partly equipped with color posters.
