3DLabs P10

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 3DLabs P10 VPU ( V ISUAL P rocessing U nit) is the first fully programmable graphics processor . 3DLabs used this graphics chip exclusively on graphics cards from the Wildcat VP series .

construction

A P10 VPU consists of two hundred individual 32-bit vector processors , which together achieve a computing power of 200 GFLOPS or 1.2 TeraOPs. Due to the high flexibility, the computing power of these vector processors can be divided as required.

Features

The P10 offers virtual texturing and can therefore address 16 GB of virtual memory. It is also one of the first graphics chips to have a 256-bit memory interface. The chip supports DirectX 8.1 with vertex shader 1.1 and pixel shader 1.2 as well as OpenGL 2.0.
