The Krups 3 Mix is a hand mixer from the Krups company that came onto the market in 1959 and established a system of multi-purpose devices of the same name. The concept envisaged expanding hand mixers with the right accessories to make compact, but complete, kitchen appliances .

Original generation (from 1959)

The design of the original model 3 Mix comes from Werner Glasenapp . From 1959 it was supplied with a dough hook and whisk and had a motor power of 100 watts.

Later the Krups Turbo followed , in the early 1970s a new edition of the 3 Mix with 140 watts and a rear-wheel drive for the Schnellmixstab, as well as the 3 Mix electronic , which differed from the 3 Mix only by a stepless speed control .

Model series 3000 (from 1972)

The next generation replaced the previous models. The Krups Topmix , built between 1972 and 1984 (140 watts), with dough hook and whisk served as an entry-level model .

The Krups 3 Mix 3000 , built 1973 to 1984 (140 watts), with a whisk and dough hook in the basic equipment, also had a rear-wheel drive for the quick mixer, like its predecessor. In addition, accessories such as can openers , blenders, stirrer stands 3000 and chopper were newly developed for the rear-wheel drive . For the front-wheel drive there were accessories such as the schnitzel mill, the potato peeling machine and the hand blender with a matching sieve. These accessories could also be used for the Topmix .

This was followed shortly thereafter by the 3 Mix 3000 electronic , which was identical to the 3 Mix 3000 but had a stepless speed control, and the Krups 3 Mix L , which had a more powerful motor (150 watts). These devices could be expanded into a versatile system that can be compared to a food processor and were available in white, yellow, orange and brown.

Model series 2000 and 4000 (from 1984)

From 1984 the "3000" series was replaced by the successor models 3 Mix 2000 (150 watts), the 3 Mix 4000 (180 watts) and the then most powerful model 3 Mix 4004 (170 watts) with a flexible spiral cable and innovative for the time , ergonomically shaped handle introduced.

For price-conscious customers, the Duo Mix (120 watts) and the Turbo Mix (140 watts) were launched on the market as entry-level models and were produced until the mid-1990s. This product generation was revised again at the beginning of the 1990s with the takeover of Krups by the French SEB Group.

In 1991 the 3 Mix 2000 Plus (170 watts), the 3 Mix 4000 Electronic (180 watts) and the 3 Mix 4004 Electronic (190 watts) came onto the market with a slightly different product name ; which did not differ externally from the previous model generation, but were more powerful in terms of motorization and, with the exception of the 3 Mix 2000, had a stepless gearshift.

Model series 1000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 (from 1995)

From 1995 came the 3 Mix 5005 (200 watts, without rear connection) with a classic three-stage switch, the 3 Mix 6006 (200 watts, with rear connection) and the premium models "3 Mix 7000" (230 watts until 1998, 350 watts from 1998) )out.

The affordable entry-level models were the 3 Mix 1002 and 3 Mix 1003 (both 160 watts).

The 3 Mix 7007 (240 watts) was the somewhat more powerful hand mixer, was launched in 1998 as "3 Mix 7000" with 350 watts and later 500 watts until today (as of 2018) - apart from a small optical change from 2009 and without the spiral electric cable - Despite the introduction of newer model generations, production continues.

Model series 8000 and XL (from 2000)

Almost at the same time, the 3 Mix 8000 and 3 Mix 8008 (both with 350 watts) with a revised connection system came onto the market from 2000 . The simpler 3 Mix 2000 XL and 4000 XL models (280 watts and 240 watts, respectively) followed a little later . In contrast to them, the top-of-the-range 3 Mix 8008 has stepless speed regulation and automatic power adjustment.

Model series 5000 and 9000 (from 2012)

In spring the 3 Mix 5000 (350 watts) and in September 2012 the 3 Mix 9000 (500 watts), with a rear made of high-quality Santoprene plastic for a stable stand for non-slip, safe work, came onto the market. These models represent a return to the classic properties of the model generations before the 8000 and XL models.

Accessory compatibility

The most important accessories fit from the first to the current (7000 and 9000) generation of models. Exceptions to this are some large parts that have been tailored to the special shape of certain model series.
