The 4L Trophy is a 6,000 km long desert rally from France to Marrakech . Only Renault 4 vehicles are allowed to participate in the rally . The age of the participants is limited from 18 to a maximum of 28 years and each team must carry at least 50 kg of educational materials for school children in Morocco. The organizer sees the 4L Trophy as the largest sporting and solidarity event in Europe. The first event took place in 1998. More than 700 vehicles were registered for the 2007 event, and more than 1000 vehicles for the 2019 edition. The 4L Trophy 2020 begins with the technical and document acceptance in Biarritz . Then the participants travel together from Algeciras by ferry to Morocco, where the actual rally starts.
