5 Zimmer 1 winner was a documentary soap that was broadcast on RTL . It shows five candidates who change every week who are redesigning a room in their apartment with a budget of 1000 euros and twelve hours under a certain motto.

The show is hosted by interior designer Attila Deveci, who chooses both the room to be renovated and the motto of the week. Deveci also comments on what happened on the show and awards points to the candidates at the end of the week. The winner is determined from the points of Attila Deveci and the other candidates and receives 2500 euros. Previous mottos were, for example: animal print, color explosion, maritime, Asian style, photo wallpaper , back to nature and the 50s .

Two seasons were produced for the show in Germany. The first season ran from March 17 to 28, 2014, the second season from August 25 to October 2, 2014. In October 2014, the broadcast was canceled due to poor audience ratings.
