Mountain Gun 65/17 M13

The 65mm Mountain Gun is an Italian gun introduced to the Italian Army in 1913. It proved to be an excellent support weapon in the battles of the First World War in the Alps . In 1920 the gun was retired from the mountain troops and handed over to the infantry . Due to its robust construction and weight, it was used until the mid-1940s.

technology

As usual with mountain guns, the device could be broken down into partial loads. It was transported with mules and also by hand through difficult terrain. The elevation range was −10 ° to + 20 °. This ensured that the weapon could fire down from an elevated position. The lateral straightening range of 8 ° was more common for power guns at that time.

A large splinter protection shield ensured protection against fire from light weapons and against splinters.
