Aßmann (commercial vehicles)

Assmann was a commercial vehicle and body manufacturer in Eisenach .

Company history

The commercial vehicle and bodywork factory was founded by E & K Assmann in 1920.

Many superstructures for large commercial vehicles and buses were manufactured in the Aßmann factory . In particular, bodies were designed and built for coaches and so-called view omnibuses. Large moving vehicles and trailers were built on behalf of customers.

The company was expropriated and nationalized in the GDR in 1972 in order to convert it into a " state-owned company " (VEB).

After the reunification , the company could be re-established as Aßmann GmbH .
Since then the company has been active as a repair, service and body shop.
