A-blogger or alpha blogger is a term coined in the years after the turn of the millennium , which was intended to describe the increased reach of individual bloggers . It was formed analogously to the term "alpha animal". The term was hardly adopted and could not establish itself.

Basically, general characteristics of an opinion leader can be assigned to him, highly frequented blogs fulfill the function of a gatekeeper under certain circumstances . The reach and influence of blogs in general can be measured, for example, on the basis of visitors ( unique visit or page impression ), referrals or financial indicators.
