Watchblog
A Watchblog ( Engl. To watch "careful watching") is a not clearly defined form of weblogs . It is often operated by experts on a specific topic, serves to critically observe and assess key developments and actors in the respective field and aims to educate the general public. According to the entire blogosphere , no formal training is generally required to create or collaborate on a watch blog, and in contrast to traditional specialist publications, there is often no editorial preparation or control.
Prominent German watch blogs are for example:
- Image blog and over media ; operated by Stefan Niggemeier and colleagues
- the Austrian media watch blog Kobuk.at
- ORF-watch.at , an Austrian media watch blog by Andreas Unterberger , Kurt Ceipek , Claus Reitan and others
