A-One Hip-Hop Music Channel (TV channel “A-One”) - is a Russian music channel. Musical contents are hip-hop, R'n'B, rap, electronic music, funk, reggae, soul and indie.

The station is broadcast via satellite ABS-2 (FTA), in packages from 850 cable network operators throughout Russia and via all other popular channels including IP TV.

history

The television channel was founded in spring 2005 under the name "Alternative One". A-One started broadcasting on August 5th, 2005. Since then, the channel has been operating around the clock. In the period from 2005 to 2010, the television channel donated the annual RAMP (Rock Alternative Music Prize). The nominees included both Russian and foreign rock bands, and the winners were determined on the basis of the results of the public voting. Korn (2005), StoneSour (2006), UNKLE and Marilyn Manson (2007), Klaxons (2008), Franz Ferdinand (2009) performed at the award ceremony.

The channel was nominated for the national Teffi award in the “Design of a TV program / project” category for its design .

In the period from 2007 to July 2011, A-One presented the music that was out of the format of other music channels. Both classic rock and hip-hop or IDM went on air.

On September 15, 2011, Aleksandr Tolmatskii was appointed general program organizer. He changed the channel format: “In line with the modern current trends in culture in general and in music in particular, the vector is shifting towards the alternative hip-hop industry. Movement in this direction will be our common priority ”. At the same time, the channel was renamed “A-ONE Hip-Hop Music Channel”, where the abbreviation A-ONE was no longer an abbreviation, but simply became a figurative mark. Troitskii left the canal in November 2013.

In October 2012, A-One was awarded the national prize "Zolotoi Luch" ("Golden Ray") as the best Russian music channel. In 2013 the station reached the final round for the international Eutelsat TV Awards. In 2010 and 2014 he was the winner in the category “Music Channel” in the prestigious national award in the field of digital multichannel television “Bolshaia tsyfra // Big Digit”.

Since 2014, A-One started a series of night parties across Russia. The station also organizes concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg. a. Linkin Park , Apocalyptica , Manu Chao and Faith No More performed.

In addition to evaluations of current releases, this also includes tests of gadgets and reports of cyber tournaments. The program “FunBox” deals with contemporary (youth) culture, including sports, breakdancing, street art and graffiti. The weekly news format "Big News" deals with the hip-hop scene. Thematic house evenings and concerts by young artists are, as well as cooking and eating together, the subject of the "musical kitchen".

The chart shows include “A-One Hip Hop Top 20”, the channel's most important hit list, “Urban Hits Top 10” (music without borders), “All die Unseren” (Russian hip-hop) and “Dance Hits Top” 10 “(the best dance videos of the week).
