The Associação Atlética Mackenzie College , usually abbreviated as AA Mackenzie College , was a Brazilian football club that helped shape the early days of football in Brazil.

history

The AA Mackenzie College was founded on August 18, 1898. Four years later, the team was one of the founding members of the State Championship of São Paulo , the oldest competition in Brazil. As third place in the tables, she missed participation in the final between the two first-placed teams from Club Athletico Paulistano and São Paulo Athletic Club , the eventual winner, in the debut season . After the club withdrew from the championship series in 1907, it took part again from 1912. In the following years, players like Arthur Friedenreich or Manuel Nunes competed for the club, but it was not enough to win the title.

In 1920 the club merged with the recently founded club Associação Portuguesa de Desportos . By 1922, the combination appeared as Mackenzie-Portuguesa in the state championship of São Paulo.
