ABC readiness level

There are five levels of readiness (BG) in the Swiss Armed Forces , which are used for NBC protection . These levels of readiness are intended to protect soldiers from the dangers of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons in an emergency. Special formations of the NBC defense also receive the CSA 2000 .

Level of readiness 0 (BG0, readiness for protection)

Readiness level 0 is the AC protection readiness. This means that an NBC protective mask , C protective suit, overboots and protective gloves are prepared and ready to hand. In addition, emergency ration and emergency laundry are in the combat backpack, the canteen is filled with liquid.

Level of readiness 1 (BG1, C partial protection facilitated)

C protective suit is put on. NBC protective mask , overboots and protective gloves are ready to hand.

Level of readiness 2 (BG2, C partial protection)

C-protective suit and overboots are put on. NBC protective mask and protective gloves are ready to hand.

Level of readiness 3 (BG3, C full protection facilitated)

C protective suit, NBC protective mask and overboots are put on. The protective gloves are ready to hand.

Level of readiness 4 (BG4, C full protection)

Reliefs are canceled. The C protective suit, the NBC protective mask , the overboots and the protective gloves are now on. The protection is mutually controlled.
