ACT Alliance

The ACT Alliance is an international church network and one of the alliances for humanitarian work and development aid . It is active in the event of disasters, development issues and lobbying . The association's secretariat is in Geneva .

ACT stands for "Action by Churches Together". The organization has 140 members and a financial volume of around 1.5 billion euros annually.

aims

The aim of the organization is to coordinate the worldwide work of the churches and to make aid more effective through common quality standards. The potential of the churches and their affiliated organizations should be better exploited in order to be able to react better to emergencies. In addition, the alliance is expanding cooperation in development aid.

history

The organization emerged on January 1st, 2010 from a union of the global emergency aid alliance ACT international and the development aid network ACT Development.
