AEG Power Solutions with the listed Luxembourg holding 3W Power SA and the Dutch operating holding AEG Power Solutions BV is a manufacturer of electrical components with headquarters in Zwanenburg ( Netherlands ). In 2013, the company generated sales of 271 million euros and employed more than 1,500 people.

history

In 1998, Saft Power Systems (formerly a subsidiary of Alcatel ) acquired AEG SVS Power Supply Systems ; In 2005, the US financial investor Ripplewood acquired juice from Alcatel. In September 2009, Germany1 Acquisition Limited , a so-called special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), acquired the majority in AEG Power Solutions from Ripplewood.

In February 2012, the financial investor Nordic Capital announced that it would acquire the company through a public purchase offer. The share then rose by around a third to 4.30 euros. On April 5, 2012, the company announced on its website that the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) prohibited the takeover of the company by a subsidiary of Nordic Capital. Therefore, the takeover will not be pursued any further. The company's share price slipped to less than half of its previous value in a week. On April 17, 2012, the share was listed at the opening price at just 1.97 euros.

Listed holding company

After the takeover by Germany1 Acquisition Limited , whose only substantial asset is the 100 percent stake in AEG Power Solutions, this holding company was relocated from Guernsey to Luxembourg and renamed 3W Power Holdings SA . It is listed on the regulated market in Germany. Around 35% of the shares are in free float . The major shareholders include a. Carsten Maschmeyer , Thomas Middelhoff and Roland Berger .
