AGFW | The energy efficiency association for heating, cooling and CHP e. V. (formerly the working group for heating and thermal power management or working group for district heating ) is an association of companies that operate thermal power stations and district heating networks in Germany. He sees it as his task to support the member companies "through industry lobbying [...] in the areas of politics, law, technology, business administration as well as organizational and occupational safety".
Data
The association is an amalgamation of more than 500 companies that supply heating or cooling via cables. These companies operate over 1,300 networks with a total route length of 19,100 km. [4] More than 80% of the heat is generated in plants with combined heat and power. [4] These plants supply around 7% of Germany's gross electricity generation. [4] The heat connection value in Germany is around 57,000 MW. Of these, over 53,000 MW are statistically recorded by AGFW. 50% of district heating customers are household customers, 44% public institutions, trade and commerce ("non-residential buildings") and 6% industrial customers. [4]
goals and tasks
In addition to representing the interests of the industry vis-à-vis the public and politics, the association organizes the exchange of experiences within the industry as part of the heat technology trade fair . He coordinates research and development projects and contributes to maintaining the technical self-administration of the industry through the standardization of minimum industry requirements in the AGFW set of rules.
The association is co-editor of the specialist journal EuroHeat & Power .
