ANUSAT ( An na U niversity Satellite) is an Indian amateur radio and technology testing satellite that was built and operated by Anna University in India .
mission
ANUSAT was the first satellite to be built by an Indian university under the overall advice of ISRO . The aim was to bring university academics and research experts from ISRO together to implement a project in the university environment.
Furnishing
ANUSAT carries a digital memory and a forward payload for amateur communication. In addition, a number of technological payloads such as digital receivers , turbo encoders and magnetic field sensors are on board. The satellite was spin stabilized and was powered by a lithium-ion battery and solar cells .
Start and shutdown
ANUSAT was on 20 April 2009 with a PSLV - launcher as a secondary payload with risat-2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in a low earth orbit brought. After 3 years in earth orbit, the satellite was switched off in April 2012 and burned up on April 18, 2012.
Successor Mission
With ANUSAT-2 a second mission of the Anna University is planned. It should start before 2020. The launch site and launcher are still unknown.
