ARD / ZDF advancement award women + media technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ARD / ZDF “Women + Media Technology” award is one of the awards for women in Germany . It has been awarded annually since 2009.

The prize is awarded to women in technical media professions who are “competent and imaginative in helping to shape the future of audiovisual media”. One goal is to open up career paths with the public service broadcasters for talented women. Graduates of state-recognized courses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can apply. Your thesis must deal with technical topics and be relevant to television, radio or online media. The sponsorship award primarily evaluates the scientific quality of the work.

In the first step, the work is assessed by a 'selection committee', which consists of representatives from public broadcasters, technical colleges and universities, industry associations, specialist press and women's networks and nominates ten applications. The 'expert jury' consists of eight members from public broadcasters, technical colleges, universities and industry associations. When assessing the award winners, those of the selection committee and expert jury are included in a ratio of 30 to 70. The sponsorship award is awarded in three price levels: 1st prize (endowed with 5,000 euros), 2nd prize (endowed with 3,000 euros) and 3rd prize (endowed with 2,000 euros).

The award is traditionally made by the ARD.ZDF medienakademie on the first day of the International Radio Exhibition (IFA) in Berlin.
