The Acción Sindical Uruguaya - Instituto Nacional de Estudios Sociales (ASU - INES) is a Uruguayan non-governmental organization .
The ASU - INES, organized as a non-profit association ( Asociación civil sin fines de lucro ), was founded in 1960 by the trade union umbrella organization CNT as a so-called think tank . It has had its own legal personality since 1966. The organization is based in Montevideo . ASU - INES is a member of the Asociación Nacional de Organizaciones No Gubernamentales (ANONG) and the Association of NGOs in the field of the environment. At the international level, it is affiliated with the Confederación Latinoamericana de Trabajadores (CLAT), the Confederación Mundial de Trabajadores (CMT), the Universidad de Trabajadores de América Latina (UTAL) and the Instituto Nacional del Sur (INCASUR). General Secretary is Alberto Melgarejo . The ASU - INES has projects in cooperation with the EU .
