The ATIW (Training Center for Technology, Information Processing and Business) based in Paderborn runs a state-approved substitute school ( vocational school ) that trains for Siemens AG and other companies in the fields of IT , business, electronics and metal technology. The focus is on computer science.

Attending classes at the ATIW replaces attending a public vocational school. About 800 vocational students are currently being taught in the ATIW vocational college .

history

The ATIW was founded in 1987 as the sponsor of a vocational school. In the form of a non-profit GmbH , the ATIW was initially a 100% subsidiary of Nixdorf Computer AG , from 1990 Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG and has been a 100% subsidiary of Siemens AG since 1998.

Job profiles

The ATIW trains the following dual occupational profiles in the fields of computer science, business and technology:

  • Specialist Application Development
  • IT specialist in system integration
  • IT system administrator
  • Industrial clerk
  • Electronics technician for devices and systems (EGS)
  • Industrial mechanic

The job profiles of IT specialist and IT systems clerk are also trained in combination with a bachelor's degree accompanying the training.
