The general journal for philosophy (abbreviated with the sigle AZP, sometimes also AZPh) is a scientific journal for philosophy . It has been published three times a year since 1976, initially edited by Gerd-Günther Grau (1976–1984), then on behalf of the company by Josef Simon (1985–1994). Andreas Hetzel, Eva Schürmann and Harald Schwaetzer have been editors of the magazine since volume 41.2 (2016) . They succeed Tilman Borsche from the University of Hildesheim , who was the editor from 1995 to 2016. Hildesheim is currently (2018) also the editorial office of the magazine.
