A Biff Brewster Mystery Adventure , or Biff Brewster for short , is a thirteen volume adventure and crime novel series for young people published in the United States . The name refers to the title character Bruce "Biff" Brewster.

The series appeared under the publishing pseudonym Andy Adams . The writers Walter B. Gibson , Peter Harkins and Edward Pastore shared this pseudonym and thus the joint authorship . The volumes were published between 1960 and 1965 by Grosset & Dunlap in New York . Parts of the series have also appeared in Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish.

Walter Brown Gibson authored Volumes 4, 7 and 13; Harkins Volumes 6, 10, 11 and 12; Pastore volumes 5 and 8. To what extent volumes 1 and 9 can be assigned to Gibson or Pastore is still unclear. The authorship of volumes 2 and 3 is also uncertain.

Summary

Bruce "Biff" Brewster is a 16 year old boy who regularly accompanies his father, Thomas Brewster, to his exotic workplaces. These are mostly in distant countries, where Thomas, as an engineer for the Ajax Mining Company, has to carry out important and often secret work. At the same time, Biff solves mysterious riddles or solves any crimes.
