A Guy Called Gerald (AGCG) is the stage name of Gerald Simpson (born February 16, 1967 in Manchester ). He is a musician, DJ and producer in the house and drum and bass scene. He was best known for his early work in the Manchester acid house scene in the late 1980s and the track Voodoo Ray . Simpson was a member of 808 State from 1988 to 1989 and has pursued a solo career as an AGCG since separating from the group. From 2005 he ran a studio in the Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin .
