Aaron Rechja di Modena

Aaron Rechja di Modena († 1639 ) was an Italian Kabbalist of modern times, best known for his 198 chapters sefer maabar jabboq , "Book of the Jabbok transition " ( Mantua 1626 etc.), according to Gen. 32, which at his time - even in excerpts - was widespread. Above all, it provides interpretations and sometimes quite drastic descriptions of illness, death and the process of decay in the grave, which are presented as penance and expiation, as well as mystical interpretations of mourning customs.
