Abū l-Faraj Hārūn ibn Faraj was a Karaean scholar.

According to the Karaite chronicler David al-Hītī (early 15th century), Abū l-Faraj Hārūn lived in Jerusalem in the first half of the 11th century . There he worked at the school founded by Yūsuf ibn Nūḥ , the direction of which he took over after his death. In Arabic he wrote several grammatical works on Hebrew , the most important being his al-Kitāb al-Muštamil ʿalā l-ʾUṣūl wa-l-Fuṣūl fī l-Luġa al-ʿIbrāniyya (Comprehensive book on the basic principles and special rules of the Hebrew language ), of which there is also a short version ( al-Kitāb al-Kāfī ).
