Abalakov test

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Abalakow test (also jump-and-reach test ) in a sports science test procedure to determine the maximum vertical jumping force.

The test person wears a belt to which a tape measure is attached, which is at a right angle to the floor. The distance between the belt and the ground is measured (initial value). Furthermore, the test person is in a square with an edge length of 40 cm. The test person then performs a stretch jump from the crouching position , landing within the square. The value of the measuring tape is now read off after the jump and the initial value is subtracted. This value gives the jump height.
