Abban of Magheranoidhe
Abban von Magheranoidhe (also: Ewin, Abhan, Evin, von New Ross ; * 570 , † March 16, 620 ) is a Catholic saint . His feast day is March 16.
He was the son of Cormac, King of Leinster . Abban founded several churches in what is now County Wexford . His main monastery was in Magheranoidhe , which was later renamed Abbanstown and is now called Adamstown. In addition to the churches, he also founded the monastery in New Ross , which later became a well-known school of scholasticism .
