Killer Do Not Introduce Themselves ( GDR title: Three men must die ) is a French film based on the book by Jean-Patrick Manchette with Alain Delon in the lead role as a victim of corrupt machinations. Directed by Jacques Deray .

action

During a trip to a poker evening, Michel Gerfaut comes into the line of fire of the arms company owned by the industrialist Emmerich, who has three of his employees killed for security reasons. Since Gerfaut helped a victim, Emmerich believes he is an agent and wants to blow him up. Emmerich's killers try several times to kill him. Gerfaut strikes back and, after killing one of his friends, can kill one of the killers in turn. Since he is left to his own devices afterwards, he investigates.

Emmerich decides not to have Gerfaut killed anymore, but to buy him. Gerfaut receives an offer. He asserts that he has no interest in Emmerich, but just wants to be left alone. Emmerich has a heart attack and dies. Emmerich's right-hand man, Leprince, continues the business and assures Gerfaut that he cannot escape his killers. In the final scene, a passer-by asks Gerfaut for a fire while walking. Another man puts a revolver in his mouth and shoots him.

Reviews

"Moderately exciting thriller that does not make enough of the charming constellation - a hunted becomes a hunter - and lags far behind cinematic models."

"A little bit of a rumor, but the action is sweeping."

"Delon in his favorite role as a lone fighter"

- Heyne film dictionary . 1996

Special

The music Gerfaut hears in the car when he discovers the accident comes from the fourth movement of Johannes Brahms' first symphony.
