Abbeyfeale Abbey ( Irish Mainistir na Féile ) is a former Cistercian abbey in County Limerick on the border with County Kerry in what is now the Republic of Ireland . The former monastery was located in Abbeyfeale around 20 km southeast of Listowel on the River Feale .
history
The monastery was donated in 1188 by Brian O'Brian and in 1209 converted into a priory ("cell") of Monasteranenagh Abbey .
Buildings and plant
Parts of the monastery are to be built into the local Catholic parish church. There are also remains in the cemetery.
