Abdelhakim Dekhar (* 1965 in Algrange ) is a French alleged assassin .

Rey-Maupin affair 1994

In the Paris squatter scene he was known under the pseudonym Toumi and belonged to an anarchist group. Dekhar himself claimed to work for the Algerian secret service. He had been given the task of infiltrating radical left circles in order to expose Islamists there.

In 1994 he helped the left-wing autonomous couple Florence Rey and Audry Maupin (→ Rey-Maupin affair ) obtain weapons, which they wanted to use to rob a bank. The attack went wrong, the perpetrators threatened a taxi driver and initially managed to escape. To end the hostage situation, the taxi driver rammed a police car. The Paris police opened fire, the taxi driver and three policemen died in the shooting. Eventually the two perpetrators fell into the trap of the police. Audry Maupin was shot, Florence Rey surrendered.

Dekhar was involved in the break-in of the guarded parking lot, but not in the shooting. He was acquitted of the charge of armed robbery. However, he was sentenced to four years' imprisonment for membership in a criminal gang.

2013 Paris attack

On November 18, 2013, he broke into the foyer of the left-wing liberal newspaper Liberation , shot a photo assistant with a rifle and seriously injured him.

A few hours later he fired at the Société Générale bank in the “La Défense” office and business district . He then had a kidnapped motorist take him to the center of Paris, where his trail was initially lost. On the evening of November 20, he was arrested in a parking garage in the suburb of Bois-Colombes ( Hauts-de-Seine department ). Prior to the arrest, Dekhar had been taking medication, suspecting a suicide attempt .
