Abdissares

Abdissares was probably the son of Arsames , came from the Orontid dynasty and is believed to have been around 225–215 BC. Ruled in Armenia. His portrait appears on the obverse of his coins, wearing a pointed tiara ; on the reverse he is titled in Greek as Basileos Abdissarou (ie "King Abdissares"). His son was probably Xerxes of Armenia . Apparently Abdissares stopped paying tribute to the Seleucids , as Polybius mentions that Antiochus III. the Xerxes, after he had this 212 BC Chr., Waived most of the tribute payments that Xerxes' father had owed.
