Abdou Badjie stood in the 1997 election to parliament as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Kombo Central constituency in the Brikama Administrative Region . With 51.22% he was able to win the constituency before Wassa Janneh (UDP) for himself.
