Abduction wedge

An abductor (of lat . Abducere locking / lead away, see also abduction ) is a medical aid which z. B. keep the thighs apart or ensure a certain splay in the hip. It is used to avoid malpositions in children or for postoperative rehabilitation after revision endoprosthetics of the hip joint . The abduction wedge is attached in a suitable size and shape to child seats (fixed or on vehicles) and is placed in the bed for postoperative rehabilitation of adults.
