Balancing valve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Line regulating valves are fittings that are used in pipeline construction.

Line regulating valves, like line shut-off valves, are used to shut off individual pipe sections in pipeline networks for media such as air , gas , water and coolant . In addition, they are suitable for the precise regulation of the volume flow, as is required for hydraulic balancing , among other things . This is used to create the same pressure loss in the entire pipe network so that all points in the network are supplied with the medium in the same way. This also helps with the economical distribution of the media, as the pump output can be precisely adjusted. The use of these fittings is particularly important in larger networks. Increasingly, however, smaller systems such as B. in single-family houses the hydraulic balancing is carried out by means of balancing valves.

Line regulating valves are used in sanitary engineering and in central heating construction , among other things . In order to enable precise and comparable regulation, the flow must generally take place in the intended direction and a straight pipe section with a minimum length of three times the diameter must be used in front of the valve .
