Spawning box

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A spawning box is a device used to prevent viviparous fish in the aquarium from eating their offspring after spawning . It is a box that can be hung into the aquarium, in the upper section of which the mother fish is housed. The immobile fry fall through a grid into the lower section. This makes it impossible for the mother fish to reach its young.
