Siegfried Hoppe-Graff

Siegfried Hoppe-Graff (born March 23, 1949 ) is a German educator and was professor for educational psychology at the University of Leipzig until 2013 .

Career

Hoppe-Graff studied psychology, sociology and mathematics at the universities of Göttingen , Marburg and Berlin between 1967 and 1976. He received his intermediate diploma in psychology in 1970 at the University of Marburg and his diploma in psychology in 1974 at the Free University of Berlin . The topic of his diploma thesis were development sequences.

He received his doctorate in 1982 from the TH Darmstadt as Dr. phil. with a thesis on the “Condition Analysis of the Genesis of Class Inclusion”. His habilitation in psychology then took place in 1994 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . The subject of his habilitation thesis was “The Emergence of the Pretend Game”. From 1995 to 2013 he was Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Leipzig. In the meantime he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education there (1996–1999) and Managing Director of the Center for Teacher Education (ZLS) Leipzig.

He has been retired since October 1, 2013
